TV Formats

TV formats are an international multi-billion dollar industry. Steve Blame and his format development partner Linda Ujuk, an AFI award-winning producer with a rich history in developing and producing a variety of primetime television shows for Australian commercial and pay TV broadcasters, are active in this growth industry. Their combined experience covers two continents, but their expertise is focussed on the worldwide industry.
Linda and Steve met at the Entertainment Masterclass, an executive education programme for the entertainment television industry where they learnt from industry leaders and distinguished experts about the art and business of entertainment television.

Steve's writing career started before MTV when he wrote for various publications in London including Time Out, Blitz and The Independent. Following 7 years of writing and presenting the News at MTV Europe, Steve also contributed to two books, Leigh Bowery: The Life and Times of an Icon, by Sue Tilly, and Handbuch der Musikwirtschaft, a german music industry publication. In 1996 Steve completed a comic book, The God of Television with Robin Arroyo-Schneider. He then teamed up with Robin once more and wrote the sitcom The Living Lobster which was optioned by Pro GmbH, a production company formerly based in Cologne. In 2006, Steve completed his Screenwriting Master's Degree at the University of East Anglia. He has completed various screenplays and sitcoms since then but the first to be optioned is Take the Blame, co-written with Steve Hudson and currently in development. The script has received development support from the Filmstiftung NRW.
